Just an anchor man? Water Cronkite was such a far cry from the plastic, newscaster created by Will Farrell in the movie Anchor Man. Cronkite was the trusted news source for Americans in the 1960’s and beyond. Even when he was broadcasting from behind the desk in a studio, he had the capacity to speak from his gut making an emotional connection with his viewers. We may never see another anchor in our lifetimes who will have seen as many world events as Cronkite and can tell us abou them with the conviction of a Cronkite.
